Two people are elected from every class to be on School Council. They meet every week to talk about stuff about school - things like improvements to school property and the environment, school dinners and fundraising.
Hello we are the school council.
We represent Hotspur primary school.
We meet every Monday lunchtime at 12.30
and discus how to improve our school, so there is a children’s view on resources and things that happen in our school.
The Chairperson of School Council is Michael Johnson in Year 6. Each year every class from Year 2 elects two councillors.
We have been involved in the David Bellamy award, and we have recently dug an allotment area and have created a tyre park to benefit the children.
We wanted to improve the classroom cloakrooms. Four Council members go around the school giving classes a mark on a 4-point scale – 1 is the highest mark for a tidy cloakroom.
Fundraising events have been very successful. We have raised money for a school in India to help give them some of the resources they need for a good education. We have also raised money to our playground.
School council is happy to welcome newcomers to Hotspur.
